Poster design for Georgetown University's Nomadic Theatre production of Annie Baker’s “John”
“John” follows a quarreling young couple’s stay in a Gettysburg, Pennsylvania bed and breakfast. In her stage direction, Baker provides a detailed description of the set itself, emphasizing the ornate—even cluttered—decoration and its importance to the claustrophobic feeling of the play. Ranging from antique clocks to creepy dolls to strange bird cages, the set gives the unshakeable feeling that everything is just a little bit off.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the play was cancelled and the project halted.
